Kiruthiga KANNAYA is a first-year Master’s student specialising in Bioinformatics – Platform Engineering in Biology at Université Paris Cité, having earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Université Sorbonne Paris Nord. She has been fascinated by bioinformatics since high school, as it combines her passion for biology with her interest in data analysis. Bioinformatics was a real revelation for her because she wanted to work in biology, but not at the laboratory bench.

During her third-year discovery internship, she had the opportunity to observe the development of a single-cell pipeline, which helped her to understand the thought processes of a bioinformatician. This experience confirmed her interest in biological data analysis and motivated her to further develop her skills in this field.

Kiruthiga is hardworking, determined and punctual. She demonstrates proactivity by engaging in in- depth research and self-directed learning to overcome challenges and achieve her goals. She is curious, organised and persistent, and does not give up until she has fully understood and mastered a topic.

With great enthusiasm, she chose to undertake her Master’s internship at SIMHEL, an environment she considers ideal for further developing her applied bioinformatics skills. She is eager to contribute to and help advance SIMHEL’s projects.
