PhD Student
Lola Ozenne completed a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences at Université Sorbonne Paris Nord, followed by a Master’s degree in Therapies and Technologies for Living Systems, with a specialization in Experimental Therapies Applied to Living Systems at the same institution.
She is currently pursuing a PhD entitled “Role of Mechanical Stress in Communication between B Cells and the Microenvironment in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.”
Her research focuses on the changes in microenvironment cells after contact with B CLL cells. After contact with B CLL cells, the appearance of the cells in the microenvironment changes : they become more rounded. This rounded shape is associated with flexibility of the tissue, promoting the accumulation of tumor cells.
She hypothesizes that B cells exert a mechanical stress on microenvironment cells, modifying extracellular matrix, which would impact the infiltration and the retention of B cells in lymphocyte tissue.
