Study of alterations in the communication and activation mechanisms of mast cells and B lymphocytes in ageing and neoplastic diseases. PI (France-Mexico collaboration, 2026–2029, grant ECOS Nord USPN)

Immuno-ageing and increased inflammation are associated with the senescence of immune system cells, which undergo alterations in their phenotype and suffer modifications that alter cellular communication with other cell lineages. In this project, we aim to characterize the interactions between mast cells and B lymphocytes using in vitro and in vivo models. This work will analyze the changes that ageing and cancer cause in the signalling pathways involved in communication between these cell types. The study will involve PhD students and researchers from the Center of Research and Advanced Studies (Cinvestav, Mexico) and the Sorbonne Paris Nord University.
